Single For The Holidays?

s

It’s easy to look around this time of year and get caught up in some serious comparing and despairing. If you’re not feeling as holly and jolly as everyone else because you’re single that’s okay. Being single during the holidays doesn’t mean you have to be lonely and miss out on all of the fun this season has to offer.

If you find yourself staying in a relationship that you know isn’t working or continuing to go on dates with that guy that you don’t really like just because you don’t want to be alone for the holidays, STOP DOING THIS IMMEDIATELY.

You can do this. You can be single and still enjoy the holiday season and I am going to help you.

Being single around the holidays can actually be a lot of fun! It’s all about how you look at it. Use this time to your advantage and focus on making it the best one yet!

Here are my tips for being single during the holidays:

1. Surround yourself with friends and family

What better way to take your mind off of being single then to surround yourself with people who love and care about you? Be careful about who you choose to surround yourself with. You don’t want to be around people who make you feel bad about being single or who just suck the energy right out of you. You want to surround yourself with people who love you and want the best for you and who are going to add to your positive jolly vibes.

2. Treat yourself

Who better to celebrate than you? You deserve a gift or a day of pampering just as much as anyone else. Buy yourself something really special that you wouldn’t normally splurge on. Or take yourself to the spa for the day and indulge in some pampering. Just because Christmas is all about giving doesn’t mean you can’t also give to yourself. You are special and deserving too!

3. Give back

The fastest way out of a funk is to help others. There are SO many ways to do that during this time of year. Volunteer at a soup kitchen, adopt a family to shop for, visit a senior center. This is one of the best ways to uplift your spirits and to stop feeling alone.

4. Plan your time wisely

If there is ever a time of year to celebrate it’s now, so take advantage! Organize an ugly sweater Christmas party, plan a trip to cut down a Christmas tree, bake Christmas cookies, have a Christmas movie marathon in your pj’s, or drive around and look at Christmas lights. Just because you are single doesn’t mean you can’t what this season has to offer.
